Archives needs

I forgot to add the need for environmental control. I’ve been tracking and when they turned on the heat the humidity dropped from an average of 65% to an average of 35%. Not good.
Thoughts from a \”lone arranger\” archivist at a small college.

Environmental controls? Wut’s that?
Monday it was 60 degrees/40% humidity when I came in, when I left, 65 degrees and 23%.
Today, Friday, it was 70 degrees and 21% when I came in, it is now 71 degrees and so low in humidity it doesn’t register.
Meanwhile, I have tissues stuffed in the cracks of the windows, painter’s tape around the edges of the windows and foam board in the window wells. There is a grill in the one door to the archives, but part of the ceiling is “glassed in” with plastic and there’s a huge gap where the air duct (which I don’t think is operational) was placed.
Oh, and did I mention the portion that’s “glassed in” was a retro-fit for the 3+ foot wide open space to the third floor that wraps around the entire building?
