Communications across the campus.

I just found out that Alumni House has a alumna  volunteer  who is scanning all of the yearbooks.  It sounds like she has been working on it for a while.  This is a  project we were considering outsourcing, should some funding come along.  I’ve asked how they are making the images available and how I could link the Archives web page to it.  It sounds like they are not currently available.  They are using them for reunions.  I’m hoping we can do a deal so I can get the images and make them available on ResCarta, once we have that up and running with the 6 years of digitized student newspapers we had done last spring and the online finding aids. I’m psyched about the idea of being able to search all of them at once.

If course the whole ResCarta project is waiting for IT to set up the new archives server.  I sure they don’t have anything better to do with their time.
