Archives Procedures on PBwiki
July 22, 2008
I’ve set up a wiki on PBwiki to be the procedure manual for the whole library. I started with just a table of contents listing the department names. Then I set up a page for archives procedures with links to the following:
- Cataloging, Authority Control, Finding Aids
- Email lists
- Donations, Deed of gift, Acknowledgement
- Phot scanning
- Shelving
- Vertical File
These are all procedures I had already written in Word so I did a lot of cut and paste. The wiki format should allow me to update procedures quickly and as often as needed. And just think, it’s all in one place!
We are keeping it as a private wiki so I can’t invite you to view it. Take a look at PBwiki though. It’s free and fairly easy to use

Hi Linda,
This is great! I’m actually a librarian, and specialized in archives management. Now I’m working at PBwiki, so I love seeing how fellow librarians are using PBwiki.
